Setting Up your Training Parameters
Cogmed Standard
Includes all exercies and assumes comfort with both numbers and letters. Appropriate for most users.
Cogmed Light
Excludes exercises that involve numbers, letters, and advanced sequencing. Approprite for children under 7 and for those with specific cognitive difficulties that interfere with language and numeric processing (e.g. recovering from stroke)
Block Length
Choose a block length that is appropriate for the individual Trainee's concentration level. The block length determines the total number of blocks for the entire training.
Note that the Cogmed training protocol reflects training volume and not time, and a Trainee's time to complete a block will vary. The given times (25, 35, or 50 minutes) are estimates, and most Trainees will need less time. * How long do you want train?
Frequency Goal
The frequency goal (number of blocks/week) is a tool to help Coaches plan. The program does not enforce the goal, and the Trainee can vary the frequency of the training. * How many training sessions per week?
Create Theme
The motivational reward theme allows Trainees to earn gems and gold that they can later use to build their own worlds.
Focus Theme
No reward system. The simple design of the Focus theme allow Trainees to concentrate soley on the training.
